Unfiction is putting together a terrific one-day seminar called Embrace the Chaos. The conference will take place on Nov. 2, 2007, at the Baisley Powell Elebash Recital Hall in New York City. The idea is to educate people in the marketing and advertising fields about the power of alternate reality games, and how to successfully use them.
I'm thrilled to see something like this starting up, personally, so big cheers from over here. I'll definitely be there myself. As I've been speaking to advertising and marketing folk the last few months, I've been shocked to find how very many think "interactive" just means "banner ads and SEO." There's a profound lack of awareness of how much more powerful an interactive campaign can be.
Update Oct. 3: Sadly the conference is being postponed, so, uh, I guess I won't be there. I will, however, still be in New York, so if anybody's of a mind to hang out, go ahead and drop me a line.
